And the fight continues

Achimuthu Shankar, a key contributor to the Savukku website, has strongly protested the hacking of his e-mail by the National Cyber Safety and Security Standards.

Following a series of exposes, Justice C T Selvam has ordered closure of all Savukku websites.

The time-line of the harassment of this whistleblower website we have already given here:  Savukku's relentless battle for justice.

And look at the orders of  Mr Justice Selvam:

Though previous Supreme Court rulings clearly lay down only the URL in question may be removed, if found objectionable, the Madras High Court arrogates to itself the right to crack down on any and every savukku-linked site. That is being challenged.

In the meantime as reported earlier Mr Pothi Kalimuthu who had rendered technical assistance has been arrested.  A Chennai magistrate has already turned down his bail plea and has granted police two days custody of the hapless Kalimuthu.  That also will be fought.

Meantime,  under the guise of acting under High Court instructions,   one Amar Prasad Reddy, Additional Director General of National Cyber Safety and Security Standards has hacked Shankar’s mail ID. This is unacceptable and illegal, Shankar has said in his letter to the Superintendent of Police with the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell Central Bureau of Investigation at New Delhi.

Inter alia, the letter notes, “The Cyber Crime Cell of Chennai City Police arrested one Pothy, S/o Kalimuthu, in connection with two cases.   During the arrest of the said Pothy, one Shri.Amar Prasad Reddy, Additional Director General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards, Cyber House, Southern Region, No.1, 1st Floor, 1st Avenue, 8th Cross Street, Indira Nagar Main Road, Adyar, Chennai. 600 020 was present in the cyber crime division.

Amar Prasad Reddy

During the course of investigation, the said Amar Prasad Reddy, even without the knowledge of cyber crime officials had hacked my email id :xxxxx@gmail.com, which I have been using for more than 3 years.   After gaining access to the email, the said Amar Prasad Reddy has changed the password and made the email inaccessible to me.    Further he had changed the recovery phone number, recovery email of the said email id.

From the said email id, Amar Prasad Reddy had addressed various people and changed the passwords of a couple of other related sites also.    It is learnt that the said Amar Prasad Reddy has been threatening the cyber crime people that he is very close to Justice C.T.Selvam of Madras High Court and if the cyber crime people interfere with him, they would face severe action by Hon'ble Justice Mr.C.T.Selvam of the Madras High Court.

The action of hacking of email and changing passwords by the said Amar Prasad Reddy, is a punishable offence under the Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2008.

I request that a case may kindly be registered against Shri.Amar Prasad Reddy, Additional Director General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards, Cyber House, Southern Region, No.1, 1st Floor, 1st Avenue, 8th Cross Street, Indira Nagar Main Road, Adyar, Chennai. 600 020 and investigation taken up in accordance with law.

So the fight for justice continues, friends
